MUNSTERLAND RIDING SCHOOL

This camp is located on the premises of one of the best equestrian schools in Germany (5*). The school is a four-time champion of Germany among more than 290 clubs. Its goal is to train those riders who want to take the test in one of the German categories in equestrian sport in order to get the title at the end of the course. Moreover, in addition to 2 hours of daily classes you will find a variety of camp programs with fun activities and competitions and beautiful nature. The campers will be comfortably accommodated in a cozy brick building on the territory of the complex. They will taste delicious food and find new friends.
 
Equestrian program
 
Daily training program would help the campers to prepare to take the test in one of the German categories in equestrian sport, and to get the sports title at the end of the course. The tournament program obligatory includes elements of dressage and show jumping, as well as the theory and, optionally, if desired, free riding in the open field. For more detailed information on German titles in equestrian sport see the Service / Reference section (DRA IV, DRA III, DRA II).
 
RA 5 – the fifth title. Former DRA IV. Class E show ring dressage program; riding and show-jumping to the style of the E class level; a minimum of 6 obstacles. Students will have a talk with the examiner about the practice of riding, knowledge of the rules of participation in tournaments and prevention of injuries in equestrian sports, as well as the work of hands.
 
RA 4 – the fourth title. Former DRA III. Class A show ring dressage program, riding and show-jumping to the style of the A* class level. Students will have a talk with the examiner about about the practical aspects of riding, and general physical training of the rider, as well as the knowledge of the basic ammunition of a sports horse.
 
RA 3 – third title. Class L show ring dressage program; snaffle bridle; riding and show-jumping to the style of the A* class level. Students will have a talk with the examiner about the practical aspects of riding, knowledge of ethics in equestrian sports, and physiological basis of training sports horses.
 
RA 2 – second title. Former DRA II. Class L show ring dressage program; bridle with a mouthpiece; riding and show-jumping to the style of the L class level. Students will have a talk with the examiner on the practical aspects of riding, especially the use of harnesses, in particular the bridle with a mouthpiece; as well as on topic of anatomical and exterior foundations of the training.
 
An examination fee is charged for participation in the tournament. If successful, the child would receive a badge and an official certificate from the Equestrian Federation of Germany. Those children who are not confident in their abilities or do not qualify for the tournament based on the results of the training, will be able to perform an easier program and would receive motivational children's badges or "beginner's" title.

 
Accommodation
 
Children would live on the territory of a newly built modern equestrian complex in a new brick building with spacious rooms which accommodate 6 to 10 people. Each room has a bathroom with a shower.
 
Meals
 
Full room and board: breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner.

Daily Schedule

Rise at 7.30 a.m.,
Breakfast – 8.00-8.30 a.m.,
Getting the horses ready for classes, followed by a morning training class – 8.30 a.m. – noon,
Lunch - 12.00 – 12.45,
Rest time for horses (no one is allowed in the stables at this time) and free time for children – 12.45 – 14.45,
Afternoon snack – 2.45 p.m. - 3.00 p.m.,
Late afternoon training, and taking care of their horse after classes – 3.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m.,
Dinner – 6.00 p.m. – 6.30 p.m.,
Personal time (including time for telephone conversations with parents – the use of cell phones is discouraged at any other time) – 6.30 p.m. – 7.30 p.m.,
An evening animation program (games, contests, walks, etc.) – 7.30 p.m. – 9.00 p.m.

 
Language:

Communication at the camp is done in German or English. This and the friendly atmosphere provide great opportunities for language practice. A high level of language knowledge is not required, because the camp staff have experience and desire to work with children from different foreign countries. If necessary, the camp management involves Russian-speaking staff to help children from Russia with translation during classes and later, when taking the theoretical part of the exam. There is no additional payment required for translation services.
 
Extracurricular activities
 
In addition to horse riding, children will be able to enjoy various equestrian games, as well as all kinds of competitions, sporting events, etc. Participation in any extracurricular activities is optional.
 
Comfort, safety and keeping in touch with children
 
For phone conversations with your children, please use the time slot between 6.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. (Berlin time) when children are free from classes. Camp staff and counselors are on the camp territory and in the building all the time, so that children can feel at home and can always turn to them for help in case of any problems. The doctor is available 24 hours a day and can be called immediately if necessary. The camp has a Wi-Fi, but the connection does not work everywhere and is spotty, and there could be a signal failure due to network overload.
 
*Health insurance that is valid on the territory of Germany is mandatory.*
At any time, while the child is at the camp, s/he or the parents, as well as the camp staff can contact the organizers of the trip in case of a language problem and/or any other difficulties.

Camp's Location

The camp is located in the suburbs of Münster city in thr Münsterland region of the Federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Air flight
 
The flight is to Düssseldorf International Airport in Düsseldorf (Note: "Weeze" is a different airport!) Tickets should either be purchased independently, or they can be booked with us along with a voucher to the camp.
 
When booking tickets on your own, please consider the recommended arrival and departure times:
Preferred arrival in Dusseldorf is between 10:00 a.m. And 2:00 p.m. (local time); preferred time for the return flight is between 11:00 a.m. And 3:00 p.m. Guests arriving and leaving outside the recommended time will need to hire a private transfer shuttle for an additional fee. All the information regarding airport pick-up and drop-off procedures will be provided with your booking confirmation.

 
Airport pick up and drop off
 
Upon arrival in Düsseldorf, your child will need to go through passport control with all other passengers and then collect their luggage. Our representative will be in the Arrivals area right by the exit from the customs zone; they will hold a sign “PFERDEland.ru”. When leaving Germany, we will help the child to check in for the flight and take her/him to the passport control zone.
If you are not sure that your child will cope on their own, you can hire an additional support service. In this case, the airline staff will personally deliver the child to our employee. The same thing happens on the way back home – our employee accompanies the child to the plane.
If you wish to use the support service, please inform us about it in the "Additional Requests" field when placing your order.
This service is paid, as it entails a long stay of our staff at the airport. The cost is 50 Euros. The duration of the group transfer is about 1 hour 30 minutes.

 
The voucher price includes:

The child's pick up at the airport of Düsseldorf by a Russian\English-speaking chaperon; general transfer from the airport to the camp and back within the recommended time of arrival and departure; the camp program, including accommodation, meals, organized leisure activities for children, training program for the examination for the title in German sports categories.
 
Extra charges
 
Airfare to Düsseldorf; visa fee and mailing the documents to the Consulate (if necessary); individual transfer outside the recommended time of arrival and departure; optional – additional hours of classes, excursions outside the camp; examination fee for the participation in the tournament (maximum 220 Euros). NOTE! Every child must have health insurance valid in Germany, as well as the accident and damage (civil liability) insurance. You can either purchase the insurance policy on your own or request it from us when booking the voucher as an additional service.
